     @Nudhul @goatmeal Zizek’s point is that the USSR was not Marxist, Zizek is a intellectual who studied Marx as well as many other writers, the USSR was a social/political phenomenon that perhaps claimed to be based on Marxist writings but that doesn’t mean Marx would approve of the USSR.
     
     It’s two different things, one can read a book and appreciate the thinking of the writer without supporting some historical event.
     
     My issue with Zizek is that when he talks to dumb leftists he always pretends like he is on their team and they kiss his ass despite them not having the intellectual ability to actually understand anything of what Zizek talks about, on the other hand when Zizek talks to intellectuals on the right, he shows his power level and has very interesting debates.
