   @kc2ihx @quantensalat @noracodes once while I was doing some satellite ops through SO-50, someone asked if I was a spy.

   Yes. Spies typically stand around in public in broad daylight holding a big purple antenna towards the empty sky. This is the kind of inconspicuous behavior that lets us maintain our cover.

     My experience is that working on antennas is more likely to get 'are you talking to aliens?', which is also a good question to start answering 'yes' to.

     I have a 30 foot antenna in my backyard. People have stopped asking. Also I'm white as yoghurt of course.
