Follows from other servers are not displayed. But why? 🤷🏻♂️ it’s making harder the search of people to follow

Data is expensive.

Use, follow, and browse hashtags you're interested in. Then follow people that use them, and I'm sure they'll also boost others with similar interests.

Egor (boysboysboys@mastodon.world)'s status on Friday, 30-Aug-2024 02:01:49 JST Egor @BeAware but I don’t need all data, just pages names. What is the solution to finding people and how can other people find me then?

BeAware :fediverse: (beaware@social.beaware.live)'s status on Friday, 30-Aug-2024 02:07:28 JST BeAware :fediverse: @boysboysboys you do see posts from people from other servers...your talking to one.
I'm on my own server...Fedi does work by follow relationships, but on a per-instance basis.
You don't have to follow them, but *someone* on your instance has to follow them. Given that your instance has almost 200k users, I don't see that becoming an issue.
However, thematical accounts, I'm not sure. Maybe they're just not interested in the theme you're trying to portray.🤷♂️

Egor (boysboysboys@mastodon.world)'s status on Friday, 30-Aug-2024 02:07:29 JST Egor @BeAware but I don’t see posts from people from other servers, right? Or if I follow I’ll start seeing them?
I’m thinking maybe I should re-register here with a more personal acc, just posting more diverse stuff 🤷🏻♂️ doesn’t seem like mastodon users like following thematical accounts

BeAware :fediverse: (beaware@social.beaware.live)'s status on Friday, 30-Aug-2024 02:15:36 JST BeAware :fediverse: @boysboysboys you also have to remember, you've been here for 3 days on this account. Building a social graph takes time.
Especially on decentralized protocols like Fediverse. It's up to you of course, but if it were me, id keep trying for at least a few weeks. Though, maybe 1 theme for an account isn't the best, but I can't say for sure if that's hindering you or not because personally, I'm not interested in men's fashion, so I wouldn't follow you myself. I am just one man though.

Fedi isn't for everyone and that's okay.
Older stuff here is not worth very much. As I said previously, data costs money.
People and relationships are much more important in my opinion. But that's just me maybe.

zimowski (zimowski@mstdn.social)'s status on Friday, 30-Aug-2024 03:43:14 JST zimowski @BeAware I came back to another acc I have. It’s just interesting that here I see even fewer people and some accs don’t show latest posts ive seen on that previous acc
I’ve just created one more acc and I see more people in search there than here - this acc is 2 months old already 🤷🏻♂️
It’s just very tiring to post into void and hope someone would notice you with all these limitations

BeAware :fediverse: (beaware@social.beaware.live)'s status on Friday, 30-Aug-2024 03:47:23 JST BeAware :fediverse: @zimowski follow them!😂
Only followed users have their posts grabbed!
If nobody on your instance is following them, no new posts will come through. Ever. Never ever. Never ever ever.

zimowski (zimowski@mstdn.social)'s status on Friday, 30-Aug-2024 03:47:24 JST zimowski @BeAware no no, I don’t see newer posts, that’s the point. What if all inactive accs I see are actually active, and I just don’t see newer posts. I can’t meet people without seeing what they post

My instance deletes cache every week and I still hold onto 300 gb of user profile data.

zimowski (zimowski@mstdn.social)'s status on Friday, 30-Aug-2024 03:58:17 JST zimowski @BeAware as a programmer I don’t understand how its working. I request to show me the profile but server refuses to show some posts 🤷🏻♂️ if I follow it’s the same request to add their posts to my feed. Why do the same requests processed differently I have no idea. My server doesn’t have to store any information from other servers, right?
