  EA ported Mass Effect 3, a game series where your choices are supposed to matter in the 3 games... On a console with only 3 (they had a thing where you could build a save file tho')... And then they released the Trilogy, at a lower price point than 3 Wii U... 2 weeks before 3 Wii U came out. And then apparently EA went around at the GDC saying games don't sell on Nintendo
  
  Ubisoft had Rayman Legends that was supposed to come out at launch. It was delayed. Then around Feb, they released a demo with daily, weekly speedrun that EVERYONE was fucking playing. I swear to god the wikipedia article is not accurate, I swear it still had a beginning summer release date, even after the demo came out, but eventually was ultimately delayed so that it could launch on all platforms at the same time... Guess what, they released it like a week or so before GTAV. Lol. Lmao. Before then, they had Spring and the Summer to the game by itself on Wii U

  @coolboymew @ChristiJunior I remember Ubisoft doing that with the Wii U, practically releasing mid games that were “doomed” to sell poorly so they didn’t have to “bother” with the system at all.
  Well Nintendo is doing well, and Ubisoft is shipping out DEI Star Wars & Ass Creed slop now. Pft.

  We used to have NIS who almost wouldn't develop a damn thing on anything Nintendo releasing their games first on Switch. Falcom was about to support for fucking Stadia before the Switch and were recentlyish now talking about switching main development platform to it and yadda yadda

  @RehnSturm256 @ChristiJunior To add to that, if you were a big Nintendo fan you noticed how developers treated Nintendo for years. It was really fucking weird. Endless "tests", this ain't "right" for the console and weird ass perceptions, throw away side games, etc. Basically, all in all, 3rd parties ended up fulfilling their own goddamn prophecy about it. It was frustrating
  
  If Sony is getting themselves, once again, to piss off the Japanese side of things, they may as well actually start losing all of it, and if it happens, as history has shown, they might never actually get them back

  @hj @ChristiJunior @coolboymew if anything, this is just as much a condemnation against Sony and third party studios as everything else spoken here: we see how the weak Switch can flourish while ESG money-infused propaganda swill costing millions flops. Instead of going down on their knees chasing SBI etc money to make propaganda garbage, companies should change their design philosophies and make better, “weaker” games.

  @mikuphile @ChristiJunior @coolboymew @RehnSturm256 i hate switch for many reasons and controllers one of them but primarily because of peasant tradition of "nuh-uh, you have to use our controllers or controllers approved by us on our console", and switch comes with joycons that physically hurt my hands no matter how i hold them.
  
  i use ps5 controllers on my steambox, don't think there's much latency over bluetooth, and if i really wanted to avoid latency i'll just plug them in an play wired.

I actually get better latency playing switch games on an emulator on my pee cee with a decent controller than on a real switch. Although I hear that ps5 also has a lot of latency and I don't know about kikerosoft. There really is no reason to own a console these days.

  And not like I can plug my F710 into switch directly either.
  
  It's just arbitrary restriction to make people buy more controllers. Especially with switch which comes with complete dogshit joycons. It's like if NES came with a power glove instead of normal controller.

  All while I'm practically swimming in all of the different controllers only 2 of which are supported by switch but they lack sticks.

  red ring of death was literal manufacture/design defect, basically CPU (and GPU) is connected to motherboard via a fuckton of tiny blobs of solder, which is completely normal thing to do, however the cooling was somewhat badly design - it would cool it down too much, shut off, then when temperature rises start to cooling it (too much) again and cycle repeats. What ends up happening those solder blobs expand and shrink from temperature and eventually just fucking crack, breaking the connection between cpu/gpu and motherboard.
  
  What I'm really saying - you didn't play on your xbox for more that a few hours :trollface:
  
  (or maybe you live in a hotter or colder climate so its cooling doesn't make severe contrasts like that)

  And I have cats, so you can imagine all the cat hair I gotta deal with. Anyways I’m happy with my pro and I’ve had it since…2019? If you want real trash, we need to talk about PS4’s second generation of controllers, designed to break when you open them and with stick drifts. Planned obsolescence there.

  practically what i'm saying if climate is hot then cooling system would run more consistently (i.e. all the time) and if it's cold then cooling system might not run at all or run at shorter intervals.
