Driving across #nebraska for the first time in three years, I noticed the absence of #birds.
Along the last 20 miles of highway 80, near Sidney, I have only seen seven birds and three of them were turkey vultures circling in the distance.
Is that normal?

@blaise more pesticides means fewer insects, which means fewer birds. That being said, as a resident I feel like this time of year is when I historically see the fewest number of birds. Add to that, Nebraska saw unusually cool weather in mid August that may have tricked some into early migration. I'm not a scientist. Just a local.
