   Am I the only one who kind of tired of random people seeing Fediverse, all this ready to use infrastructure, built community and thinking they somehow represent it?
   
   The same dudes who once in a year propose set up a shiny website, propose a new icon, maybe start selling people their new social media platform with an optional federation and then it goes nowhere because they're just randoms who never been part of Fediverse in the first place, and basically want to parasitize on it for their personal benefits?

     @a1ba In fact something I quite like with the :fediverse: is how you can put some project or instances logos in the circles, possibly with matching colors.

     @lanodan the pentagram just fits the network topology the best. You can't do this with two vertices because it would be just a line, you can't do this with three vertices because it doesn't show the interconnection and you can't do this with four because that's just a boring square with a cross inside of it.

     @a1ba And more vertices could make it a bit too busy or look like a 🕸️ which I've seen sometimes as a funky way of representing the Web so already taken.

     @lanodan and colors of the vertices nicely represent social and technical differences, yet they're all connected together.
     
     And you can't also use six vertices because that's just excessive.
