The National Federation of Republican Assemblies (#NFRA) has cited the infamous 1857 #DredScott #SupremeCourt decision, which stated that enslaved people weren’t citizens, to argue that Vice President #KamalaHarris is ineligible to run for president according to the #Constitution.
Just, wow.

@clacke @Queenofpalms @slcw the reason this approach is terrifying is that it isn't sufficient to have your own papers at a stop by the Gestapo or ICE but one would need the papers for your parents. Even if they only make citizenship unavailable for children of "illegal" people in the US those children will then have the challenge to produce proof of legal immigration for their parents when they where born. Or else swept into the camps. Depending on the color of the person no doubt.

The 14th amendment section one was a direct repudiation of the Dred Scott decision. These people want to remove the 14th amendment and they have just the Supreme Court to do it.
