“A democracy says you don’t silence the people. You do not stifle the people. You don’t turn off their microphones when they are speaking about the importance of life and liberty. That is not what a democracy does … they turned off the microphones. They tried to tell them to sit down and be quiet. … Because you know what? Can’t have those voices in that room challenging notions about who should say what and when and where. ‘Let’s expel them.’ (1/4)
Can you imagine? ‘Let’s get rid of them entirely.’ ‘Let’s remove them, not only for that moment, but remove these people who have been elected to represent the people. And let us decide who should represent the people.’
@aral the Iranian government funded the, laughably inept, Palestinian effort to disrupt the DNC. We are not obligated to give a platform to undemocratic foriegn agitators at the DNC. Dont tell them Trump wants to deport them all. If they keep attacking Democrats they will regret it. When given a chance to elect leaders, Palestinians chose terrorist Hamas Millionares instead of smart compassionate leaders.
@aral@LALegault Hypocrites. They’re so afraid of alienating Jewish voters. Sorry DNC. You’re supposed to support the rights of everyone. Palestinian people are not Hamas just like most Americans are not all MAGA
@bouriquet@aral@LALegault Perhaps most important for Democrats to understand here: it's antisemitic to conflate followers of a faith with a national allegiance, especially when that nation is engaging in genocide. The Jewish faith should not be used as a political shield for rogue states to wave away scrutiny with.
