   I've only really been following politics closely for like a decade but I can't recall politicians from 20-30 years ago acting so bizarrely in the presence of regular people. They go into a diner in a flyover state and mince around as if they're afraid to be molested. They visibly shake when asked questions and take rehearsed bites of chicken fried steak acting like they're struggling not to vomit.

     Politicians wear makeup. They are fags. Simple as.

     @DrBtc I figured it was kayfabe to a certain degree but they all look so uncomfortable in their own skin even around hired extras

     @PraxisOfEvil @DrBtc This is probably what Skallas was talking about when he stole someone's idea of refinement culture. Things, over time, change slightly every year, to be more refined. The insular nature of the political world is probably like that.
     
     It used to be politicians came from other walks of life, and had normal connections with society. Things have morphed slowly, and these days politicians are groomed from the academy and are taken inside on day one, and being an insider has got to be pretty *weird* now. And it's gotten weirder these days, and not just because of the extreme gay sex and child fucking that all politicians are known to engage in.
     
     I think they genuinely do feel uncomfortable because there's such a massive gulf between what a constructed political creature actually feels and thinks and what they perceive an actual human feels and thinks.

     They use to actually do public appearances and pretend they would do something to help people. Now they clear out a restaurant and hire 50 extras to fill it as a media stunt with coordinated responses from actors. The whole thing is a fraud
