   (Aside: I find the “but she’s a cop” attack too sloppy by half. DAs don’t shoot people. DAs •are• part of a broken justice system that causes real harm, and we need to name that — but name it carefully. The tentacles of our carceral society reach far; naming everyone involved a “cop” isn’t useful. Actual cops have a uniquely harmful role that deserves a unique name.)

     @inthehands @Lana I don't know about Harris record but isn't prosecutors somewhat of a defense against bad policing, refusing to prosecute minor crimes, prosecuting cops etc?

     @Paxxi @Lana
     It can cut either way: prosecutors have enormous discretion to determine how the law applies and to whom. Harris’s record as a DA is really good as DAs go.
