     Probably the high cost of childcare and lack of nation-wide parental leave. In my opinion, one the reasons you had militant parent groups in the USA pushing for schools to reopen is that they wanted the school as child care.

     @seanbala that makes sense except...if a kid gets lice then doesn't the whole family get lice??? People are just going to live with lice forever now?!!?!
