counting calories worked pretty mucn perfectly too, like, my weight loss was exactly my deficit.

@lain counting calories is very important but also keeping in mind what nutrients you let in is just as important. Like carbs can cause alot of fat to occur.

@lain For me the thing that worked best was tracking my weight daily. The "yoyo" happens despite "doing everything right" because without visibility into results you can have many days going in the wrong direction, until you measure and overcorrect for a few days, then fall back into the wrong direction. Once I could ensure that, I just had to do simple substitutions, until the direction was steadily downwards.

In my case my genetics are a bit frustrating, even cutting carbs I won't loose weight easily even with rationing. Except of course if I don't eat enough to even be functional, but that's malnutrition.
I need at least good 1 hour of any sport to see a progress.
