   UGH!

   My car says I must update my phone if I wish to continue using #AndroidAuto. But my (2018) phone stopped updating as of Android 8.0.

   I looked into installing an Open Source OS ("#Lineage"), but it says I need at least Android 10 first. 🤬

   My phone is only 6 years old. Not a damn thing wrong with it. 1440x2880 AMOLED scratch resistant screen. 8 core 2.8Ghz CPU. Wireless charging. USB-C connector.

   LESSER new phones cost hundreds of $… and THEY too will be obsolete in just 6 years! #eWaste

     Look around for other intermediate versions that can let you go into at least Android 10, then move on to Lineage from there, embedded hardware is so freaking bad in terms of binary blobs for drivers than many AOSP distributions can only support some devices *while* the vendor actually publishes updated blobs. Then suddenly it's a growingly worse case of weird bugs and crashes until you can't take it anymore.

     Thx. Unfortunately, the only option at the time was a buggy copy of a Korean release of #Android 10.

     But I was finally able to upgrade to 10 by fully activating my AT&T Sim for one month. 😵

     Yah, embedded devices world is just shite wrt software freedom in virtually all devices. However, not enough "market demand" .. 😕
