At least it was city name with the classic of é ending up as é so I think post office had no issue correcting it, a personal name would be more problematic and I'm glad mine entirely fits within ASCII. -

Charles Corbett (chas@tty0.social)'s status on Saturday, 17-Aug-2024 09:22:43 JST Charles Corbett @lanodan @feld my problems were from when I was building a TUI and writing text justification handlers.
Someone was like "that's cool but does it handle grapheme complexity?" And the question broke me.
Once I familiarized myself with the problem I realized it was a rabbit hole I didn't want to plumb and I haven't been able to work on the project since because it threw me so far off kilter.
Written language sucks

And also why while I love TUIs so far I've always ended up either keeping on pure CLI or going to GUI/Web to nicely shove the problem at someone else. -

Charles Corbett (chas@tty0.social)'s status on Saturday, 17-Aug-2024 09:33:13 JST Charles Corbett @lanodan @feld I was trying to write a replacement for a popular go tui and I figured out supporting flex-like arrangements (ratio sizing etc) to use for dashboards and stuff. Unfortunately between several competing issues, and the person who really wanted me to finish it for his company dying, well I'm sure I'll get back to it eventually lol.
I had several use cases for it myself, notably a now-abandoned LTE/5G antenna alignment tool (no longer use that for home Internet)
