   @the_turtle @LilahTovMoon If memory serves, he was raised by his grandparents for a meaningful part of his childhood?

   He's pandering for sure but I think I'd heard that's where he claims that identity.

     @LilahTovMoon why does he push this "appalachian" thing? He never lived in Kentucky. He lived in a north suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio where they barely have any hills. They have a WalRusMart. They have a big steel recycling facility and a large gravel pit not far away.

     His GRANDPARENTS are from Kentucky. He's from the fucking burbs.

     I have more "appalachian" cred than that asshole. I lived in the Blue Ridge for 25 years. On the side of a mountain. And I don't make a big deal about it.
