   What you are describing — making terrible exec decisions sink the person and/or the company — is •in theory• exactly what our capitalist system of profit, cost, and investment is supposed to do in the fantasyland of the Efficient Market.

   Investigating where that theory diverges so wildly from reality goes a long way toward explaining the current state of the world.
