   It's happening, people. Google Chrome is moving to the Manifest V3 framework. If you haven't transitioned to a different browser yet, now's the time to do so.

     @metin If moving to Firefox, make sure to disable all of Firefox’s own (violation of) privacy defaults like telemetry and experiments and change your search engine to DuckDuckGo. Also, don’t accidentally click yes when asked to revert to the defaults if you launch the browser after a period of not using it.

     Although not open source, I can also recommend Vivaldi as an alternative.

     Thanks for telling me this. If I understand it correctly, UI layer is proprietary and everything else is open? Well, that's not as bad, and it's still the best browser(in my opinion), but good to know.

     @metin @aral It is, but I don't think it's actually a problem. They have no plans for abandoning Manifest V2, they even explicitly said they won't do it. Even more, they have built in ad blocker. They didn't do any decisions as shady as Mozilla did, and overall it's easily best browser in terms of features, experience and interface. Also, no AI.

     @hagarashi8 @aral Sounds good, thanks. What about speed? I've noticed that Firefox is noticeably snappier compared to Chromium-based browsers (I've used Chrome, Edge and Brave).
