     @jacklaridian It’s not weird at all if you’re familiar with Nebraska and those who identify with it.

     He didn’t say he supported Walz’s politics the most, he said he _related_ to him the most as a Midwestern dad, Walz being a white quasi-progressive from Nebraska. If implying that this ought to be an important consideration isn’t prototypical of the subtlety of Midwestern racism, then I don’t know what is.

     I'm sorry, 'wholesomeness' means 'white' now? That's some pretty dumb shit.

     If you haven't figured it out, I know Uncle Sam IRL and he's TOTALLY like Walz. He shared the video of Walz with his daughter and it was obvious to anyone who knows him.

     I also live in Nebraska and I can't stand Chambers, not because he's black, but because he's divisive in an unhelpful way. Also, he's right about you being a pretentious dick bag.

     @unclesam I stand by that suggestion. That isn't equivalent to alleging that you're a Klan member, just indicative of a common tendency.

     "Wholesomeness" is, again, a culturally-freighted term, and one I see most often see on the right, not the left, so I'm unequipped to argue that. Would say, though, that I find Chambers more _admirable_ in the sense that he was more wholesomely authentic and brave.

     For the record, I didn't call you a bonafide racist, nor care to determine if that were even true.

     I was born and raised in Nebraska, and I was expressing distaste at how much more valuable cultural conformity and identification are here as compared to eslewhere. It's ridiculous to assert that "Midwestern dads who say ope" are lacking representation--that trope has been done to death, actually.

     No, you implied it by suggesting I'm a white progressive who doesn't relate to Chambers because he's black. That was clear. No one said white guys were lacking in representation, but I will assert that wholesome people are lacking representation in politics and will continue to assert that Walz acts more like I would act in this situation than any other politician I've seen at that level.

     It’s so typical of Nebraskan tribal in-group mentality. And yes, it is tone-deaf to declare that you most relate to this white prog politician, who hardly lack representstion, like it were of any significance to anyone else.

     Okay, I'm only gonna try explaining this once more since you seem to be so sure I'm racist. Here goes..

     As a Midwestern DAD, who frequently embarrasses his daughter with corny jokes and says 'OPE' on the regular, and would be completely uncomfortable on a politician's stage, I've never seen a politician (in the public eye) that I've related to so much, on a personal level. I don't care what color the man is, he's literally me, in how he deals with the spotlight.
