@AliceMarshall True, for those on such servers the Threads federated users won't be seen and if you wish that, all good.
They will work on the 95% of the Fedi that has not done that blocking of threads. And I specifically call out the Mastodon based accounts too.

Is that why the @KamalaHarris and @KamalaHQ Threads accounts aren’t accessible from Mastodon? We would like to be able to direct people via official campaign channels.

@democratsabroad No, they have not yet turned on Fediverse sharing - many of us are encouraging them to do via public @ mentions on Threads…Understandably their digital team has been kinda busy.….but everyone should encourage them to do so…also to Pete and Walz, AOC, who are on Threads but not yet federating.

continued to be active directly on Mastodon, but they aren’t and having them turn on federation from Threads to the Fediverse is the next best thing.
