@susie fosi amps only take RCA.
i considered the pyle amp but they have QA issues in everything they do and people complained of line noise.

@icedquinn The reason could be a faulty connector or poorly designed TV where the 3.5mm output isn't shielded/whatever and has loud hum to it. Surely no modern TVs would cut costs like that, surely?
3.5mm to rca is a valid choice too if find something with only rca plugs. It really doesn't matter in home usage (she says while having full-chain of balanced xlr cables). Especially just for listening to TV, when the broadcasts are just about speech lol Don't overthink it too much. Any loud box probably will do fine.

@susie idk maybe. the pyle had a remote, but when i learned i'd have to check for studs (that might not even be in the wall there) it turned out its going on a tray, so its just going to be sitting in front of me anyway. no longer matters that its a hardware dial only (but does matter that fosis are very low noise)

@icedquinn Do consider the user experience when choosing an amp. Analog knobs on amps are fine, until you can't reach them. Leaving the amps "loud" and removing volume from the TV side works in most TVs, but that results in louder hum/background noise.
So a "good" amp you need to run louder might not be any better than a "bad" amp you can run quiet. But like I said, any loud box probably will do lol
