     My kid was jaw-on-floor astonished to learn that “sigma” is (1) a real word, and (2) not somehow obscene, taboo, slang, or otherwise grownup-unutterable

     (She) We had the same thought! We even came up with a letter and a meaning for it to have, and now I’ve already forgotten what it was so apparently it didn’t take off.

     Please teach him the rest of the Greek alphabet with alternative meanings and see if you can get them to take off :-) Like, it’s not really “all the feels” it’s “all the phis”.
