I just received a follow request from someone using a site called Coracle. I've not heard of it before, but it looks like crypto stuff.
Anyone know anything about this?

@angiebaby @SrRochardBunson it's Nostr. A different decentralized protocol like ActivityPub.
The difference between Nostr and Fedi, is that everyone is in control of their own accounts. No specific servers "host" them. Therefore no specific servers "ban" anyone.
Moderation there is specifically done by each individual user for their own feed. You see something there that you don't like? Block it. And that's about all you can do.
There are "reports" to let others know why you think others should block them, but nobody can moderate for everyone else.
This leads to some very unsavory types going there to avoid censorship.
@angiebaby @SrRochardBunson yep, there's a lot of that there. A lot of crypto as well.
There are good people there as well, but due to the fact that it only has about 15,000-20,000 users, I'd say there's more unsavory types than good people.
I have some people there that follow me and I've not had a bad interaction with those people and I block anyone who I deem unsavory on an individual basis because it's a seldom occurrence.
They're following Christian Nationalists. Nope nope nope nope nope fucking nope.
@angiebaby @SrRochardBunson for further clarification, usually the domains they will originate from are momostr.pink or mostr.pub
If you want to block pretty much all of Nostr, those are the domains to block.
I've put a pre-emptive notice in my profile that I plan to block Nostr/Coracle requests.
