So....after all that drama, Copmala went against the grain of her establishment and selected Tim Walz over Josh Shapiro as her VP candidate.
Didn't think she had it in her, but, OK.
It doesn't change my personal position whatsoever, because while Walz is far and away the most progressive VP candidate this side of Thomas Eagleton, without his negatives.
And while the Democratic Right will steam and simmer away about how Shapiro was knifed by "antisemitism", they can just cry in the corner.

Gotta give credit where credit is due: the Dem progressives this time went all out to stomp mudholes in Shapiro's ass, on everything from his Israel Always Right (Wing) policy to his coverup of sex pests and murderers (allegedly), to his followers simply being total aholes in expecting the progs to just sit and take it. This time, they brought the fight, brought it hard, and for once they won. Major props.

Still gotta keep my Indy Left skeptics hat on, though, because for all his merits, Walz is still only the VP candidate. It's still Copmala's command, and she has to prove to progressives who laid it on the line for her that she cares enough to give them some actual feast to eat off the table, rather the scraps and crumbs Biden gave and then snatched away from Sanders. Also, Harris has until now given no reason that she's deviating from the Biden/Bibi script on the Middle East.

Also, while Walz is magnitudes better than Shapiro ideologically, he's still mostly a moderate-liberal, in tune with the Democrat establishment. He would not, unlike Shapiro, completely undermine any attempts at throwing progressive bones at the Left. That's important, given the Star Chamber SCOTUS' virtual pocket veto.
If he can encourage Copmala to find some of that energy and go completely off on Trumpster and the Republicans and the entirity of the Right agenda, we may be cooking.

The counter of that is that Harris has already surrounded her team with the same Obama/Biden corporcrats, and they will want to stay the course. She might not want to battle down with Congress and the Republicans too early because of the exploding Middle East; and the billionaires who back Democrats like their tax cuts too.
Still, nothing more explosive than a pissed off Black woman in power; especially a pissed off former Attorney General. If she unleashes Walz to tear Trumpster up, it's over.
