   @quinze @katzenberger Great points. Many of us are actually willing to pay for what we value. Proton, for example. I recall a comment the other day that if Mozilla had actually retained focus, while perhaps only branching out in smarter areas such as Google "ecosystem" alternatives (as Proton ultimately have done, to significant success), they might not be in such a precarious position.

     @katzenberger @quinze I love what they do, but yes their recent AI and crypto stuff was a bit disconcerting...!

     Beware of Proton - they are still on the side of the light, but with a massively mushrooming portfolio of "services", and their integration of "AI", they are heading to become the next vendor lock-in shop. It's starting to smell bad already.
