Dave may be problematic, but he changed my life in a big way because he introduced me to the dream of being debt free. 10 years or so after reading his book I became 100% debt free, till this day.
It's a life that is incredibly liberating.

@jfslicer I'm still happily using a credit card and raking in the excellent credit score as a result. But I have better self control than his readers apparently. I auto pay off my balance every single month.

@jfslicer Yeah his book was a good foundation but I went off to develop what I consider better financial habits. His investment advice, for one is so suss lol.

@liztai yeah, I think he has some good principles, but in saying “no credit cards ever” he sets a legalism that has some pretty strong drawbacks. I also have a credit card, and I pay it off in full every month. In the last 20 years of having it I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve chosen not to pay it off in full because an emergency came up. And the end result is thousands of dollars in rewards!
