   Watching a library burn is tragedy. It's loss. Lots of things are mass-market, replaceable but every library will hold some things there are very few of. Maybe no others. And when things are gone it can be impossible to bring it back. I know, I just spent 5 years of my life on a project that as good as it is can likely never be complete.

   Watching a library burn because the fire was deliberately set is a straight-up obscenity. That it was set by fascists makes my blood boil.

   War never changes.

     Branch library near my parents' house burned, in the 1970s. (Electrical fire, not arson.) The fire department saved most of the books, and it was rebuilt. (It's been expanded since.)
     Irony, or something: building was originally half library and half fire station.
