I watched Amélie, the most french movie ever, with my Austrian friend. It's actually really cute and now I have the soundtrack (the most french music ever) stuck in my head.
(My French audience might know it better as "Amélie Poulain")

The first half seemed mostly slice of life, but pretty funny. There's no great overarching plot but it's fun and cute.
Also it's extremely well made, the sets are amazing, the acting, the camera work even (which is something I usually don't notice). You can tell why it's a french cinema classic. -
