     @givenup @tyler @AmonMaritza Eh yes, but it's slightly different for a lot of reasons. Less dose, controlled and measured, and less impurities. I have self medicated my ADHD with coffee for decades and also had Adderall before. It helps but it's just an extra boost.

     @givenup @tyler @AmonMaritza There's a big overlap between the two. Most kids with ADHD can grow out of the worst of it with some cognitive behavioral therapy. Basically teaching them to prioritize, organize, and work in a way that functions for them but is also compatible with society.

     @tyler @AmonMaritza @givenup One time I tried to take one of mine aside to talk to them about a thing (it was a good thing) and I interrupted a sibling "contest" and ended up turning into a huge meltdown resulting in discipline. Mistakes were made and I felt like asshor for it but they gotta learn to stop and listen to Dad, so it worked out

     The only time you "hit" a child like that is to show them that what they did to another sibling hurts. Just to demonstrate that yes, it does fucking hurt when you get smacked in the head with a steel water bottle. Then they are more mindful of others.

     LOL I had undiagnosed ADHD as a kid and I got beaten like a rented mule for it.
     
     These days I think ADHD is overdiagnosed, but it's a real thing and spankings do not cure it.
