3 years ago, not even the combined genius of Fedora graphics gurus + Wendell from Level1Techs could get my Radeon RX 6800 running well enough to do a review -- even months after it released.

Now, we live in a world where Bazzite supported the ROG Ally X *before* it launched, and Ubuntu is destroying Windows 11 on brand new AMD Ryzen processors.

    YOU LOVE TO SEE IT.

@killyourfm .. Unfortunately AMD (and/or their partners) seems to be moving away from dedicated/discrete AMD laptop GPU’s .. hasn’t been a new model in a year or two, and older models are disappearing:( .. I want all-AMD!

@wook I hear you. I adore my ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition laptop (Ryzen 9 5980HX + RX 6800M). It absolutely screams, is still capable of 4K gaming, and the battery life is wonderful.

@koteisaev You're using Nouveau drivers for VR and gaming? I'm really surprised. Last time I tested them (a few years ago) they only delivered a fraction of the performance of Nvidia's proprietary driver.

@killyourfm Sadly, my experience with Bazitte was not so nice, but it just could not withstand badly-made Nvidia drivers. I had to switch to Ubuntu after it got "semi-non-bootable". But this is beauty of GNU/Linux - you have plenty of options to choose from at least to try something different if _that_ thing don't work for you.
Later I switched to the Nouveau and it works even better than with "official" NVidia drivers.
PS: I did not chose Nvidia specially, I just picked "VR-ready" PC at Amazon.
