   @RL_Dane Absolutely proprietary software happened.
   
   usb 3.0 generates radio noise that disrupts ~2.4 GHz and more signalling, so the only solution is a wired mouse.

     20 years ago, I was blown away with the smoothness and stability of Linux while doing intensive tasks.
     Today, on fairly recent hardware, my bluetooth mouse stutters while performing a backup (with nice +19 and ionice -c3).

     Umm... what happened?

     P.S. The bluetooth adapter and USB HDD are not on the same USB bus. I just checked ;)

     $ lsusb |grep -ie blue -e seagate
