   @miscbrains laserdiscs typically had an analog dolby pro-logic track and a Dolby Digital or DTS track. DVD had straight PCM audio with mono or stereo or 5:1 or 7:1 or 9:1 tracks uncompressed.

     @sun@shitposter.world Almost fell into a rabbit hole trying to find info. But i think the general scenario was stereo was uncompressed on LDs, and they generally used DD 2.0 instead of PCM on DVDs to save space.
