     @sun @p Turns out paid membership for an instance that only has a custom theme going in was never going to be sustainable in the realm of a bunch of nerds with optiplexes under bed that are eager to just have someone else posting on their instance free of charge.

     @mint @p that is not why it charged, it was never profitable or meant to be. the fee was to filter membership a little. I don't want to speak for mathilde why the decision was made to stop but I my perception is that the outcome just didn't live up to expectations and it was time to try some new things. sometimes that happens.
