     That's most albums ever, at least, for me. There's usually 1-3 main songs, and then a bunch of fillers and it usually ends with something different in some cases, there you go that's your album

     Singles are still a thing in Japan, but as far as I've noticed at least, singles are not really a thing here and they instead used the capacity of the disc to fill it up with other songs, hence why usually you get your few hits and a bunch of okay stuff to fill the rest

     @coolboymew @sun albums are more than just hits+filler. every song should have an aspect that contributes to the whole of the work. it doesnt have to be a concept album to achieve this. i consider this a fairly low bar to pass, doing something besides dumping everything from the last recording session.
