I was expecting this to happen.

@sickburnbro Interesting that Delta in particular had such a tough time recovering. Not sure if it was something specifically with their systems design or the ineptitude of their tech team; the fix for the Crowdstrike issue was well documented and tools were available relatively quickly. Not sure how much of their losses can be pinned on CS specifically.
Either way it's good to see a scumfuck company like CS sued, hope they get taken to the cleaners.

@PhoxFriday from what I've gathered Delta had the least cancellations and not on-times before this happened, so it seems like they were running a very optimized ship that didn't have any room to absorb mistakes like this.

@sickburnbro It'll be fun to see how much shelter that Software License Agreement checkbox buys Crowdstrike (my guess would be: not much).

@EvilSandmich if they were to get out of this with a SLA checkbox it would just reappear as massively increased risk costs for all that compliance software.
Some dumbass company doesn't just get to fuck up and cost businesses hundreds of millions of dollars and inconvenience billions of people and everyone goes "haha, well this stuff just sometimes happens!"

@sickburnbro They'd be idiots to let this go anywhere near court so they're probably trying to reach an out-of-court-no-fault settlement as we speak.

@EvilSandmich the problem for them is a) delta is gonna want a lot of money and b) part of their mistakes are probably theirs - they didn't plan for their computer systems to crash that hard. c) so in some sense it might be smarter for them to try to fight it in terms of not bankrupting their entire company

@sickburnbro @EvilSandmich Massive SLA checkbox grids are just clawbacks. I'd assume that will take place after a major settlement via the courts. The fuckups don't have a leg to stand on
