@gonnefishin I wish I knew exactly what to do. Honestly did she ever say she wanted to be buried or Cremated if she ever passed?

@teto I'm mourning for sure. Trust me.
I don't know anything about the bureaucratic shit I have to go through for funeral services.

I wish I could help, but I was on broke and on the other side of the planet when my mom passed over 10 years ago. My dad and sister took care of everything. :blobcatshrug:

..and also pay close attention when talking to funeral home people. They know people are grieving and won't notice price increases or changes in contracts. Don't let them know how much you get from insurance to cover the costs (or if you do, subtract $1~2k from it, because they'll somehow find a way to tack that much on).

@gonnefishin You have to secure a death certificate so you can close all her accounts and start funeral arrangements to put her to rest.
You also should inform family and friends about the death so they can help out.

dunno .. like I said elsewhere in this thread, I've never had to make arrangements myself. I thought insurance usually paid a fixed amount for burial costs ... but anyway the point I was getting at is there are a lot of funeral home reps that sadly take advantage of people in time of grief, and to beware of that.

@djsumdog @Hyperhidrosis @gonnefishin why? do you get to keep some of that insurance money if you pay less to the funeral home?
