   i flashed an esp8266 with arduino instead of platformio or freertos because i looked at the steps to enable a wifi connection with freertos and there was like 50 lines of boilerplate vs arduino had like 2

     @purple@nya.social can I ask what you've done with freertos? I just have a hobby project idea that I want to get around to doing but it's going to take a hot minute i think, esp with an upcoming move planned and stuff

     @shibao@misskey.bubbletea.dev freertos is amazing if you seriously need an OS for your project. it's worth learning sooner rather than later if you wanna do hella embedded dev
     
     but yeah fuck it use the stuff that smells like 70's electronics -- i don't fix what aint broke.
