     @skylar @mischievoustomato Ah the arch linux experience, that is why i only tried arch once and hated it.

     On the other hand for me amd laptops have just worked without issue, could be that lenovo got shit boards and bios/firmware, cuz everything hp just werks, hell ubuntu even got all hp laptops from the probook and elitebook lines since the gen 8 certified to just work with ubuntu, yes even the amd ones with processors from the 7000 line.

     The problem with debian is that I have often to build from source. The stable branch isn't even near current on neovim for example, so certain plugins don't work.

     I ran debian stable forever but for my workstation the age of the packages was unacceptable.
     
     I really should take the gentoo pill but I don't want to reinstall everything again.

     I found myself doing this for several things, but then after enough time, the headers get depreciated and shit won't even compile anymore.
