   So, I wanted to read a report published by Proofpoint, an IT security company, only to be met by this:
   
   
   
   The notice reads:
   The form you have requested is being prevented from loading by your browser settings or by a 3rd party plugin. Please disable 3rd party plugins for this page. If you are using the Firefox browser, please set your browser Privacy & Security setting to "Standard" rather than "Strict".
   That's a hard fail!
   
   Too bad I'm not a customer, so I can quit their service.

     happens all the time to me. I'm kind of tired to explaining to banks and governments that it shouldn't be necessary for me to lower my shields and firewalls just to get their service

     it sounds like you haven't configured your browser to refrain from downloading, installing and running arbitrary programs from random web sites. that's pretty basic security, that most web sites disregard.

     @lxo What happened to me a couple times has been corporate websites (bank and insurance) that only worked with chrome

     leaving them behind was something I've done for a decade or two, mostly when there was still plenty of choice. I've come to regret that, because now there's hardly any place left to escape to. if I had started fighting for accessibility back then, instead of ceding more and more of the terrain to the occupiers, maybe we'd all be better off by now.

     @Alexandre Oliva Yeah, it's tiresome, but we have to keep educating them on the importance of a free and open web. And if they don't listen, leave them behind and find other providers of their services. And let them know WHY we're leaving them.
