okay it WOULD be a lot of work to like, make the functionality for running multiplayer competitive deathmatch servers and that is why i am not like "oh everyone should do this". but balance? character design? we didn't used to have those, you reused enemy models and you just put all the weapons in the base game in there and people LOVED that shit.

Juniper Herodias Angel Theory (junebug@slime.global)'s status on Wednesday, 24-Jul-2024 03:49:51 JST Juniper Herodias Angel Theory we're in the midst of a wave of retro boomer shooters and yet i haven't seen a single example of my like, favorite thing in old retro shooter games: the ability to setup private servers for bafflingly ill-conceived multiplayer modes.
Sure, there's some multiplayer throwback games, but i'm looking for a SINGLE player boomer shooter that just goes "hey wanna make a private server to kill your buddies in go nuts". i don't want a live service game i want half life multiplayer servers, ya know?
