i mean. he could also just ask congress to do it. they have the power to alter contracts, they just opted *not to* when they were in control of the whole thing. just like they bailed on the minimum wage raise (which congress also had the authority and capability to do.)

@sj_zero I got a lot less interested in American politics over the years. Without punishment games democracy is just goddamn pointless.
They casually sell us out, and we just act happy they back off for six seconds. I keep saying there has to be reciprocity. If they try to burn your houses down for profit, you need to punish them like they punish poors.
Although I think normies cannot be saved.

You're right, and I think both parties need to be held to account a lot more for what they do in that regard. They wait until they're no longer in power to introduce legislation then blame the other party for not passing it when they had the capacity to pass it often just a few years prior.
