Not even gonna argue about it just use a normal real computer for 5 minutes and then attempt to use a macbook for anything other than moving the cursor and you'll realize how much it sucks

@meso I can't speak about MacBooks but I've used regular Macs for years on end before without issue. Doubtless some specific things have gotten more annoying since I last did, but not enough to actually be a dealbreaker for anything but >gaming.

@a7 @meso I'd be inclined to agree tbh, certainly the kinds of games you need some expensive gaming PC for

@allison @meso I have a mac book that I got for free and it's painful to use even for things that don't need a real computer. For example, I can't even do my wanikani on it because the key that you can configure to change IME works only like 80% of the time and the thing that shows the active one takes a while to appear*, so the most reliable way to change it is to tap it repeatedly and stop when it's about to select the desired one. Even then, the IME has its quirks such as having へ, む, ろ, ゜ in the wrong position:mito_weary:. *This is important because wanikani interleaves the questions that ask for the reading and the questions that ask for the meaning, so you might need to change the IME after just one question in the worst case.
