     It is RIDICULOUS how hard it is to kill a company.

     Absolutely, fundamentally ridiculously near-impossible.

     If a large company comes close to actual death, 'too big to fail' kicks in and someone buys them up (and they keep going in roughly the same fashion), or a government hands them a wad of cash with zero alterations to their methodology.

     Don't worry, though, their fuckups will kill people. It's just that they won't be held accountable.

     @HauntedOwlbear I can see your argument, but I raise you: lots of home reno shows (here in Aus) go this way.

     Like, a LOT are like 'yeah, we're going to go with a nice neutral gray'.

     ... and a lot of folks who I know own their own homes also go for this aesthetic.

     Same sort of folks who buy white cars 'for the resale value'.

     @HauntedOwlbear I seriously know people who ripped out their nice, wood kitchens and put in sterile white cabinets and grey stone bench tops and pendant lights.

     ... for resale value.

     It's eight years on, they've never sold their house, they're talking about renovating again 'to increase the property value'.
