     @Oggie @AnarchoNinaWrites yes, that price is probably close. Considering the rest of their infrastructure, there is no way that piggybacking this traffic costs anything.

     Well this is less horrible than a lot of the other options, but it does feel childishly spiteful, and entirely in tune with how google runs now.

     I mean, it might cost them as much as $20 a year, grand total (I don't actually know their kind of loads, but I do know that throwing a redirect service is -comically- cheap, assuming you have the servers running).

     @Oggie Google is deleting their link shortner for no good reason which is going to break literally thousands and thousands of links online.
