I think it's pretty obvious that the more RATIONAL answer is "they can read polling data" and don't want the entire party to crater in the upcoming election.

There is absolutely no rational scenario where Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer, and Hakeem Jefferies WANT to replace the incumbent Dem Party presidential candidate in the middle of July and no amount of donor money would change that at all. They're doing it because his numbers are terrible, they're staring a loss directly in the face and they don't think they have a choice.

Again, your man's approval rating is 37.9% last I checked. He's losing all six swing states most people believe will decide this election. He's currently polling behind an assclown reality TV show billionaire nazi he was beating by NINE fucking points nationally at this same point in 2020, and 65% of polled Dem Voters think Biden should drop out.
Those are the numbers, and my dude? They are FUCKING TERRIBLE. No amount of screeching about "elites" has fuck all to do with it.

@inquiline Jill Biden and her aides knew in February, that's why they wouldn't let him do the traditional Super Bowl interview even though it's free campaign airtime. History is not going to remember her and her inner circle fondly if this ends up being a Trump win.
