   ask not how others' work can be more useful to you if only they'd do even more work at no charge to you. that's not kind. be prepared to make the investment to get the work done, and to carry it forward, if that's useful to you.

     @babe It comes down to a lot of people know how to write code but don't know how to release a product.

     You want someone else to use your stuff? Release it properly. Documentation. An installer. Actual testing. Those kinds of things.

     Otherwise it's just 'bits of code on github'.
