the real reason that flash died is because zoomers dont have enough of an attention span to sit through them without a bar to seek on and skip forward and shit

@maija @Hyperhidrosis I dunno, I think late zoomers didn't get much exposure either, if you were born in (say) 2005, Flash was already on the way out and you'd be hard pressed to find it unless you went out of your way to look for it by the time you were in grade school. Also n=1 but even as a 1998 birth, I barely had any exposure to Flash and none at all to what you might term the Newgrounds culture.

@maija @Hyperhidrosis I definitely lurked DeviantArt and small time web forums, but never Newgrounds. That being said, probably the vast majority of my internet time growing up was spent on Wikipedia.

@allison @Hyperhidrosis i remember flash and newsgrounds shit plenty up to like maybe 2014/2015? and then i still remember flash being aroudn a lot after that. though i think most zoomies knew it moreso for online games than a lot of other kino content but it was certainly around, perhaps not to the same degree. 2005 feels like a really early date to call it for

@allison @Hyperhidrosis I mean alot of my childhood was spent on places like newgrounds and deviantart but maybe i'm just weird because it was also spent on imageboards and various forums that i dont think most youths wouldve been on

@maija @Hyperhidrosis I missed out on YouTube during the formative years of the site due to being on dialup, one might consider it a blessing in disguise
