I think what people are more afraid of is it being some simple to throw things into chaos.
Read Days of Rage to understand it's not hard to have that happen.

@MeBigbrain most people can accept it and live with it, but it's a startling change

@sickburnbro Tbh I've always liked this idea, and I think a lot of people do though not the majority (the majority might think they do sometimes). People like the idea of superheroes, that one determined man can make a difference, but they don't want to fully explore all the implications of that and would absolutely stop it in real life if they could.

@suquili @MeBigbrain everyone needs to stop hoping for a scene from a movie. Expect at best a slow painful slog where things suck for a long time.

@suquili @sickburnbro That's what I'm saying though, they actually showed up, they were WILLING to do something, but the one they turned to for leadership left them hanging.

@MeBigbrain @sickburnbro I see what you mean. Seems like they just trusted that Trump would do the rest and all they had to do was walk into the capitol. You have a point.
The question is if, theoretically, another character could lead those boomers effectively and actually win. By the time such a person arises those boomers will all be dead though. Still the principle applies to the spiritual boomers among the genX‘s and Millennials.

@MeBigbrain @sickburnbro Politicians kinda do play a superhero role for Hollywood-adled normies. They exist purely on TV in stage-managed appearances. Easy to forget they’re just people standing at a podium talking, defended by regular human beings who, while trained and skilled, aren’t infallible. Seeing this demonstrated in real time breaks the facade. I think everyone would do better to remember that. Powerful people at the end of the day are just humans and it’s more flimsy than you think. Not advocating anything but it’s kinda sobering to think about. First time I thought about this was when I deconstructed the term “Ivory Towers”after hearing the Sam Hyde quote about these people having “names and addresses.” They don’t live in literal towers at a different height than us. They’re roughly at ground level just like we are. And their power doesn’t transcend physical boundaries. It’s all just one big social contract. Weird stuff.

@suquili @sickburnbro We compare some figures to Caesar but we don't have a real Caesar, I can't see anyone commanding an army to march on Washington. Everyone wanted Trump to be that on Jan 6th and he just absolutely wasn't.

@MeBigbrain @sickburnbro I actually only heard about J6th two days after it happened. Wasn’t paying attention to politics at the time. I saw a bunch of Facebook libtards saying “America has fallen” but I thought they were referencing the Georgia runoff election which I knew was scheduled for the same day lol. So for me it was all obviously a ruse, being witnessed completely in hindsight.
I don’t have any faith in MAGA boomers to do shit. They’re just consoomers no different from Funko collectors, but with Trumpism. They have no real organization aside from “we are all patriots who want Trump to save America” and obviously that’s not a team that can win.

@suquili @MeBigbrain There is a government full of state department faggots flying supergay flags, military people saying pro-lifers are terrorists and who knows what kind of PreP guzzling faggots Graham has all up in capital hill.
