I mean the correct answer is still "replace Biden" and a 20 year old Republican fucking up his Day of the Jackal moment doesn't change anything about that at all. We're just pretending it does because clearly what's important here isn't winning an election against a fascist, but rather maintaining power over the Democratic Party for a bunch of dinosaur Reaganites that work for billionaires and like to have dinner with racists.

The truth is that Biden didn't lose the election when someone (again, a Republican) took a shot at Trump, and he didn't even lose it when he went on TV talking like a broken Speak and Spell, twice. He lost the election over the past 3.5 years by telling pretty much every demo that got him over in 2020 "fuck you, vote for Trump then." He lost it hugging cops, trying to work with fascists on fascist immigration bills, enabling a genocide and supporting murderpig suppression of college kids.

Your mans is going INTO this election with worse favorability ratings than every single President since Bush, the first one; who LOST. His approval rating is 37.9, he's polling behind in every swing state you need this election, he's managed to turn SEVERAL reliable blue states into a purple tossup. He's polling worse with young people than ass cancer. He's lost the Muslim vote entirely, and that means he's lost Michigan - all Trump's winning maps have Michigan.

The correct answer was "don't fucking nominate Joe Biden" literally a year and a half ago; this quest to prop him up and hope was always quixotic and based on the idea that somehow he'd make up all the ground his policies and belligerence towards his own demos had lost on the campaign trail. It was hope and bullshit from the hop, and absolutely nothing about this campaign has changed that.

I just have no patience for "pretend." Pretend is not a strategy. You don't have to like what I'm saying, quite frankly *I* don't like it either - but I'm not gonna pretend reality isn't real because you feel a way.

If you can't see that rats are fleeing the sinking ship and looking for any way that it's not their fault for insisting a horrifically unpopular president who was always going to lose is your only choice, I can't help you.

@AnarchoNinaWrites He was always this. He was "the Senator from MBNA" who pushed through legislation designed to help big banks and fuck consumers. In a field of 12 candidates he was my 11th choice. I'm a politics junkie and a sissy bleeding-heart and I was never going to vote for Trump; I was always going to hold my nose and vote for Joe if I had to. But "Shut up, hold your nose and vote" is not a compelling message for most average humans
