   My only regret is that Etsy doesn’t allow you to report copyright infringement on things that aren’t your own.

     If it's not yours, you don't have the legal right to sue, and since copyright is a civil matter, the way most of these corporations work is, "if it's a civil matter between 2 entities, we take it down until it's resolved" because if they got involved, they'd have to get involved in every case.

     Since you don't have any legal basis for a lawsuit, I don't think most companies would allow you to issue a claim. Besides maybe Youtube. I don't know exactly how Youtube's claim system works, but I constantly hear people complaining about false strikes.

     @studiofox That's the thing, it's not a "violation" in the same sense that an inappropriate image might be.

     Copyright is a civil matter. You won't go to jail for copyright infringement unless it's value is over a certain amount usually. Even then, it's different in every country and since these companies are in no place to put a value on someone's work, and usually operate in many countries, they need to step aside and let the parties deal with it themselves.

     When you're making a claim for something you own, you're not telling them "this is against the rules/they're breaking the law", you're telling them "this person is violating my rights, if you don't want to participate in violating my rights, you need to take this down".

     I hope this makes sense and explains it. Though, I understand your frustration of seeing stuff that probably shouldn't be there because they're violating someone's rights.

     @BeAware it wouldn’t be about making a claim but more about reporting its potential as a potential violation. Much like you can report “inappropriate” images and it doesn’t matter who you are.

     Obviously this would be weaponized immediately so, you know, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
