      @ai6yr the hops do different thing depending on when they’re added. Early in the boil they add bitterness, later they add flavor, and toward the end they add aroma. It’s not unusual to use different hops for bittering/flavor/aroma

      And yes, the malt is the sugar. We always did the same thing, rinse out the container with hot wort

      Next goes first hops and malt into boiling wort. Hops and malt I guess adds hoppiness and the malt adds sugar for the yeast? Rinsed our the bottle of malt with hot wort, not sure what the proper procedure is to get it all out... it's like molasses. Malt is kind of tasty on its own. 30 min until next addition. #homebrew #beer

      Step 1 is to steep the grains in warming water, before it is boiling, like making tea. I guess a lot of the flavors of a particular beer are managed by selection of grains and stewing time etc. #beer #homebrew
